You can thank Linda Berger for this idea.  These are my few thoughts on the subject.  Please, please feel free to ask questions or to add any ideas that have worked for you!

Tips for Taking Good Pictures

  • Use Natural light whenever possible.  Light bulbs will turn your pictures yellow.  Ott lights work great
  • Set your camera on Portrait with no flash, if you have great natural light or an Ott light
  • Create a background using cardstocks or matching designer papers.  The best background are all white as then they won't affect the colors in your picture
  • Light boxes are the best because then all the bad light is filtered out.  You can find lots of info on the web to create your own
  • Take several angles of the picture and for cards keep your camera level with the projects
  • Make sure the background is a s plain as possible, too busy will take away from the photo itself

Uploading to a Computer

  • Connect your camera to your PC using a USB cable which would have been supplied with your camera or remove the card from your camera and insert it into the appropriate slot on your computer or your printer
  • Create a folder where you want to keep your photos and copy and paste the photos from the card or camera to the folder
  • Edit the pictures so that you can crop out unnecessary backgrounds and resize them for the web.  I use either Photo Shop or Microsoft Office Picture Manager
  • For the web the pictures need to be in the 640 X 480 pixels range in size or smaller
  • Once the picture is edited save it to your folder and give it a name, by default most programs will save them as a .jpg file

Now your pictures are ready to upload to your blog or here!!!  HINIT HINIT!!!  LOL
